The Story Beyond History Book
Photography by Chivilt (Republic of Korea)
Winners' comments:
I'm so pleased to accept this Grand Prix.
I have never imagined winning this award.
First of all, I'd like to give gratitude to JFPC and JMoF for your effort to keep continuing this competition to maintain fursuit photography in the realm of art.
And also I'd like to dedicate the award to the models in this photography, Hoonkuk and Aseol.
Interestingly, this photo is taken when I was beginning to shoot fursuit photography, which is 'historical' for me.
Since history cannot contain everything in the world, I thought that a photograph is one kind of a way to tell people about precious stories that are not written in history.
And this became the reason for the name of this photo.
We, photographers, are in some sense historians of our own experiences who record them through a form of art.
Photos that we had taken are the best depiction of the precious moments we had.
Even though we are in these difficult times, I hope we can keep writing down histories of ours all together through photography.
It is a great honor to receive this award.
Thank you!

Winners' comments:
I was on this stage 3 years ago as a nominee for the same award.
But this time I am so pleased that I can receive this award although I cannot be on the stage in person.
Thinking about the theme 'history' reminded me of the word 'tradition'.
One of the things that best describes a 'tradition' is its traditional clothes;
in my country, 'Hanbok' would be the one.
I tried to choose a photo that fits with the theme and the word 'tradition'.
I am so honored to accept this award.
I will work hard on more photography works by receiving this award as a motivation.
Thank you!

Winners' comments:
Thank you for picking this photo,I am really honored.
When speaking of "History", regrettable events come to my mind.
In this photo, a lonewolf stood on the hill, regretting his previous action.
I tried to create an apocalyptic and gloomy atmosphere, so I used a warmer colour temperature and less saturated colour.
I also used a flash to uppress the background light from the sky to make the background look more gloomy.
Thank you again for the award and I am looking forward to the JFPC next year.

The flow of history
Photography by Maro (Japan)
Winners' comments(English Translation):
My name is Maro, and thank you so much for giving me the Best Lighting Award.
This is the first time that I participate in a photography competition. Because my works, fortunately, have received a good evaluation in public, that will be a great help to create future works.
Mikoto, my original character, is modeled on both wolves and foxes, and is one of the 2anthros who had been lived in our country during a historic period".
As the character's exterior is based on white, the direction and strength of the light were important while the shooting.
I went out at 4 a.m. and took this picture under the light of dawn.
I was a bit anxious for photo shooting in natural light, however, I was confident with the beautiful expression of the texture of facial muscles and the depth of the pupil's color, which I had spent a long time making details and refining.
In addition, my concept throughout the work is the "anthros who had been lived in our country during a historic period".
I would be appreciated it if you feel unwritten stories and originality from my works.

Fox meet up
Photography by Maro (Japan)
Winners' comments(English Translation):
Maro is here again, after receiving the Best Lighting Award.
I am very grateful to have won the Best Composition Award.
To make this piece, I got permission from a historic shrine, where many stone statues of foxes were installed, and in good harmony with Mikoto's appearance.
First of all, "Make it simple, then beauty comes" is my theme for making fursuits.
This time I adjusted the color tone in the Japanese style by simply using white, red, black, and gold.
In addition, I designed the fursuit to suit wearing a red kimono.
I have a touch that the 'simpleness' of Mikoto and the 'complexity' of the group of kitsunes are merged into one.
I can't stand without being surprised to have won two awards.
I would like to thank my friends all over the world, who usually have fun conversations with me about many attractive aspects of anthros and furries.
I look forward to communicating with you through my future works themed Japanese-style anthros.
